Paragliding in Nepal: Annapurna Region (Pokhara Valley)

The Annapurna region, particularly Pokhara Valley, is the top destination for paragliding in Nepal. Nestled at the base of the majestic Annapurna Himal, Pokhara offers unparalleled views of three 8,000-meter peaks. At 800 meters above sea level, the subtropical climate makes it an ideal location for year-round flying. The valley’s micro-climate offers more stable flying conditions compared to the Kathmandu valley, located 150 kilometers east.

The most popular site is Sarangkot, situated 1,500 meters above sea level and offering a spectacular viewpoint. The site is easily accessible via a road, and a short walk leads to the takeoff area, a 45x45 meter clearing on the slope. With the stunning lake below and mountains towering above, Sarangkot has become the main flying site, attracting many pilots who base themselves in Pokhara for the season. The site is perfect for cross-country flying and returns, offering endless flying opportunities in a breathtaking setting.
