The Saribung Trekking and Expedition is a thrilling adventure that traverses diverse landscapes, blending cultural immersion with high-altitude exploration. This journey takes you through the mystical region of Upper Mustang, crossing into the remote Nar-Phu Valley before culminating in a challenging ascent of Mt. Saribung (6,328m). The trek offers breathtaking Himalayan vistas, ancient Tibetan-influenced monasteries, traditional villages, and awe-inspiring high passes.

Detailed itinerary

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner and briefing about the trek.

Embark on a full-day guided city tour of Kathmandu, visiting UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Final trek preparations will also be made.

Travel to Pokhara, either by a scenic 6-7 hour drive or a 30-minute flight. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and explore the lakeside city with views of Annapurna and Machhapuchhre.

Take an early morning flight to Jomsom and start trekking along the Kali Gandaki River to Kagbeni, the gateway to Upper Mustang.

Trek through dramatic landscapes, following ancient trails along the Kali Gandaki, passing Chhusang before reaching Chele.

The trail ascends steep ridges, crossing several passes with stunning views of Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri before reaching Geling.

Enjoy a scenic trek past monasteries and stupas before reaching Tsarang, known for its historic palace and vibrant Tibetan Buddhist culture.

A captivating trek through barren landscapes leads to the walled city of Lo Manthang, the capital of the former Mustang Kingdom.

Spend the day exploring Lo Manthang’s ancient monasteries, royal palace, and local settlements, immersing yourself in its rich Tibetan heritage.

The trail winds through stunning canyons and remote settlements, leading to Yara, a hidden gem in the Upper Mustang region.

 

Visit Luri Gompa, a centuries-old monastery built into cliffs, featuring unique murals and sacred caves.

Ascend further into the remote Himalayas, crossing high-altitude terrain en route to Ghuma Thanti.

A challenging trek through desolate yet stunning landscapes, reaching Namta Khola.

Arrive at the base of Saribung Peak, preparing for the summit attempt.

A crucial rest and acclimatization day to adjust to the high altitude before the climb.

A demanding climb leads to Camp I, offering dramatic views of the surrounding peaks.

Begin the summit push early morning, reaching the peak of Saribung (6,328m) before descending to Base Camp.

Enter the hidden valley of Phu, encountering ancient settlements and monasteries.

A scenic trek through narrow gorges and rugged terrain leads to Nar, a culturally rich village in the Nar-Phu Valley.

The trail gradually descends, passing beautiful landscapes and chortens.

Join the Annapurna Circuit route, trekking through pine forests before reaching Koto.

A gentle descent leads to Dharapani, a significant stop on the Annapurna Circuit.

Continue descending through lush green forests and terraced fields.

A final day of trekking through picturesque villages leads to Bhulbhule.

Return to Kathmandu via a scenic drive, followed by a hotel check-in and relaxation.
