More Information
Cho-Oyu (Mt. Qowowuyag), standing at 8,201 meters, is the sixth-highest mountain in the world and is widely considered one of the most accessible and safest 8,000-meter peaks for mountaineering. Due to its comparatively moderate technical challenges, it provides an excellent opportunity for determined climbers aiming to achieve an 8,000-meter summit without requiring extreme technical expertise. The mountain was first ascended in 1954 by Austrian climber Herbert Tichy along with Sherpa Pasang Dawa Lama and Joseph Jöchler.
Our expedition follows a well-structured itinerary designed to provide ample acclimatization, logistical support, and expert guidance, ensuring a safe and successful summit attempt.
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our team will greet you and transfer you to your hotel in Kathmandu. In the evening, a welcome dinner will be hosted, where you will meet fellow climbers and expedition leaders.
After breakfast, enjoy a guided tour of Kathmandu's UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Pashupatinath Temple, and Boudhanath Stupa. In the afternoon, a detailed briefing will cover equipment checks, safety protocols, and communication procedures with the expedition team.
