The journey begins early in the morning from Kathmandu. Cyclists head northeast, passing through the medieval town of Bhaktapur, known for its Newari culture and historical temples. The ride continues through terraced rice fields and traditional houses, with a steady climb towards Nagarkot, where you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the Himalayas. Overnight at a guesthouse in Nagarkot.
Start the day with a sunrise breakfast and breathtaking views of the Himalayas. The ride continues downhill to the Newari village of Nala, and then ascends through scenic rural areas to reach the sacred Buddhist site of Namo Buddha. This place holds spiritual significance, with a monastery at the top and a legendary connection to the Buddha. Overnight stay at Namo Buddha.
After breakfast, ride towards Dolalghat, where you’ll prepare for an exciting rafting adventure on the Sunkoshi River. The rafting journey takes you through thrilling rapids for about 4 hours, ending at Dumja. Set up camp on the riverbank, where you will spend the night in a tent, immersed in the natural beauty and serenity of the area.
Following your rafting experience, cycle back towards Namo Buddha, retracing part of your previous route. This is a leisurely ride, allowing you to relax and soak in the landscape, before returning to Namo Buddha for another overnight stay.
On the final day, cycle towards Kathmandu, passing through the ancient town of Panauti, known for its historic temples, including the Indreswor Mahadev Temple. Continue along scenic routes, with a final stop at Lubhu Sisneri before arriving back in Kathmandu. The journey ends with a short visit to Patan Durbar Square before concluding the trip.
