Start the ride early from Kathmandu, passing through the medieval town of Bhaktapur, known for its Newari culture, temples, and squares.After exploring Bhaktapur, head northeast on a paved road towards Nagarkot.The ride climbs through steep terraced rice fields and traditional houses, offering stunning views.If the weather permits, enjoy a glimpse of the Langtang and Khumbu mountain ranges from the top of Nagarkot.Overnight stay at a guest house in Nagarkot.
Begin the day with breakfast and sunrise views over the Himalayas.Ride downhill from Nagarkot to the Newari village of Nala, passing through villages inhabited by Chetris and Brahmins.Continue to the sacred Buddhist site of Namo Buddha, where the Buddha fed his flesh to a tigress in a previous life.Explore the monastery and enjoy the scenic views along the way.Ride to Dhulikhel for an overnight stay, with a sunrise view the next morning.
After breakfast, ride towards Timal Danda, home to the majority of the Tamang people.The first section is on a paved road to Bhakunde Besi, followed by an uphill climb on a dusty road to Timalcot.From Timal Danda, enjoy magnificent views of the Himalayan range and Sun Kosi river valley.Continue through Tamang villages to Pauwa for an overnight stay.
Begin the day with views of the Himalayas and ride back towards Timalcot.From Timalcot, enjoy a thrilling downhill ride on a dusty road to Panchal Valley.Cross Ghue Khola River and follow a small trail through the valley to Tamaghat.Cycle up to Dhulikhel for a rest and overnight stay.
On the final day, pass through the ancient town of Panauti, home to the Indreswor Mahadev Temple, believed to be built in 1294 A.D.Ride along the Roshi River and ascend to the summit of Lakhuri Bhanjyang, an old route that connects Kathmandu Valley with Panauti.The ride takes you through various ethnic regions, from Tamangs and Thakuris to lowland Newari farmers.Complete the journey with a visit to Patan Durbar Square before cycling back to Kathmandu.
