Located in Shey-Phoksundo National Park in the western region of Nepal, Dolpo is a hidden gem surrounded by towering peaks, including the Dhaulagiri range. This trek offers a unique blend of dramatic landscapes, untouched wilderness, and rich Tibetan-influenced culture.

The region remains isolated from modern influence, preserving its centuries-old traditions. The trek features stunning vistas of Kanjiroba Himal, Phoksundo Lake, and the Dhaulagiri massif, while providing an opportunity to experience the rare Bon Po culture and diverse wildlife, including blue sheep and elusive snow leopards. Detailed itinerary

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for rest or exploring the city. In the evening, attend a trek briefing and welcome dinner.

Explore UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Boudhanath Stupa, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. In the evening, final gear check and trek briefing.

Take a one-hour flight to Nepalgunj, a bustling town near the Indian border. Explore the local markets or relax at your hotel.

Take a 40-minute flight to Juphal, the trek’s starting point. Begin trekking through terraced fields and forests along the Bheri River to reach Dunai, the administrative hub of Dolpo.

Follow the Bheri River upstream, passing through traditional villages, suspension bridges, and monasteries. Tarakot is a historic fortress town with ancient Tibetan architecture.

Trek through gorges and narrow valleys, following the Tarap River. Pass through fertile farmlands and yak pastures, reaching Laisicap, a small settlement at the junction of two rivers.

Walk along a rugged trail surrounded by canyons and alpine landscapes, reaching Tarap Khola, where we camp near the river.

Continue through the scenic Tarap Valley, home to Tibetan Buddhist monasteries and ancient Bon Po influences. Overnight stay at a local tea house or campsite.

Ascend further into the high-altitude landscapes, crossing rocky ridges and lush meadows. Enjoy panoramic views of Kanjiroba Himal.

Dho Tarap is a beautiful Tibetan-style village, known for its Buddhist and Bon Po monasteries. Experience the local Dolpo-pa culture and interact with friendly villagers.

Trek towards Num La Phedi, the base of Num La Pass, crossing yak pastures and high-altitude landscapes.

Early morning ascent to Num La Pass, offering breathtaking views of Dhaulagiri and Tibetan Plateau. Descend to Danigar, a yak grazing pasture.

Another challenging high pass, Baga La Pass, rewards trekkers with stunning landscapes. Descend to Yak Kharka, a beautiful highland meadow.

Descend through pine forests and rocky trails, reaching the breathtaking Phoksundo Lake, Nepal’s deepest alpine lake, with its mesmerizing turquoise waters.

Visit the Bon Po monastery near the lake and hike to viewpoints offering magnificent reflections of Kanjiroba Himal.

Descend along the Suligad River, passing through dense forests and cascading waterfalls.

Continue trekking through lush forests, crossing suspension bridges and enjoying the serenity of Dolpo.

A long but rewarding trek back to Dunai, retracing our steps through the beautiful landscapes.

An easy final trekking day, returning to Juphal to catch a flight the next day.

Take an early morning flight to Nepalgunj, followed by a connecting flight to Kathmandu. Rest and explore the city.

Transfer to the airport for your onward journey, marking the end of this unforgettable adventure.
