More Information
The High Manaslu Circuit is a remote and culturally enriching trek that offers breathtaking mountain views, challenging terrains, and an immersive experience into the traditions of the Gurung and Tibetan communities. This year, we extend our journey northward towards the border of Tibet to explore the hidden Tsum Valley—an enchanting region where ethnically Tibetan inhabitants continue to maintain strong ties with Tibetan culture and traditions. This side trip is an absolute highlight, offering an unspoiled Buddhist cultural experience and abundant wildlife in a secluded, untouched landscape.
The trek begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to the town of Arughat Bazaar, marking the start of the adventure. Heading northwards, the trail gradually opens to reveal breathtaking alpine meadows and small Tibetan-style villages beneath the towering North Face of Manaslu. The route passes through culturally rich villages such as Jagat, Ghap, Bihi, Lhi, Lho, and Shyo, where traditional prayer wheels and mani stones line the trails. Eventually, the trek reaches Samagaon, the largest and most significant village in the region.
From Samagaon, the route heads westward to cross the challenging Larkya La Pass (5,160m), a dramatic traverse that links the Budhi Gandaki valley with the Marsyangdi valley. The descent leads through the stunning alpine meadows of Bhimtang before joining the renowned Annapurna Circuit and concluding the trek at Besi Sahar.
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our representative will receive you and transfer you to your hotel. A pre-trek briefing will be conducted in the evening.
