The Makalu Sherpini Col Trek is a challenging and rewarding journey through one of Nepal’s most remote and pristine landscapes. This trek takes you through the breathtaking Makalu-Barun National Park, home to diverse flora and fauna, alpine meadows, glacial valleys, and dramatic mountain landscapes. With panoramic views of Makalu (8,463m), Everest, Lhotse, Baruntse, and Mera Peak, this trek is perfect for experienced trekkers seeking an adventure off the beaten path.

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, you can explore the vibrant streets of Thamel. A pre-trek briefing will be provided in the evening.
Visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Patan Durbar Square. Final trek preparations and gear check.
A scenic flight to Lukla, followed by a short trek to Surkhe through small villages and terraced farmlands.
The trail ascends through rhododendron and pine forests, offering stunning views of the surrounding peaks.
A challenging climb with beautiful mountain views as we enter the Hinku Valley, home to the Mera Peak region.
A steep descent followed by a walk along the Hinku River. The landscape becomes more rugged as we approach Tashing Omgma.
Crossing glacial moraines and alpine pastures, we reach Tangnang, a high-altitude settlement with breathtaking glacier views.
A crucial rest day for altitude acclimatization. Optional hikes to nearby ridges for spectacular views of Mera Peak and surrounding mountains.
We ascend towards Khare, the base camp for Mera Peak climbers. The landscape becomes more barren and icy.
A gradual ascent to Mera La, a high mountain pass offering extraordinary panoramic views of Everest, Makalu, and Kanchenjunga.
A challenging climb to the summit of Mera Peak (optional for climbers). After summiting, we descend to Khongma Dingma.
A scenic descent along glacial streams, leading into the heart of the Hinku Valley.
A tough but rewarding day, navigating high-altitude terrain with views of Baruntse (7,129m) and Everest massif.
Steep ascent to High Camp, setting the stage for crossing the technical Sherpini Col Pass.
One of the toughest days, involving steep ice slopes, crevasses, and fixed rope sections. Rewarded with a stunning view of Makalu’s north face.
We descend into the Makalu Valley, reaching Makalu Base Camp, surrounded by towering peaks.
A challenging ascent back towards Mera La, retracing our steps through glacial landscapes.
A steep descent through rocky and icy terrain, eventually reaching the lush pastures of Yangre Kharka.
The trail continues through rhododendron forests and meandering rivers.
A gradual climb along the ridges with beautiful mountain views.
We descend to the Sherpa village of Tashi Gaon, known for its welcoming locals and terraced farmlands.
A relatively easier walk through subtropical forests and traditional villages.
A downhill trek towards Num, passing through small settlements and farming terraces.
Following the Arun River, we gradually ascend to Chichilla, a small Gurung village.
A gentle walk through lush landscapes, offering glimpses of distant mountain peaks.
The final day of trekking, descending towards Tumlingtar, where we conclude our journey.
A scenic mountain flight back to Kathmandu. Free time for rest, shopping, or exploring the city.
Transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward journey.
