The Tilman Pass Trek is one of the most challenging and rewarding treks in Nepal, offering an exhilarating journey through Langtang Valley, Langshisa Glacier, and the remote Jugal Himal region. The trek crosses Tilman Pass (5,320m), named after the legendary British mountaineer H.W. Tilman, who explored the Himalayas extensively.
This trek takes you deep into untouched wilderness, past rugged glaciers, remote high-altitude lakes (Panch Pokhari & Tin Pokhari), and isolated valleys. It is an off-the-beaten-path adventure with stunning views of Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa, Kanshurum, Urkinmang, and Ganchenpo peaks. The region is also home to rare wildlife like the red panda and blue sheep.

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel. In the evening, a briefing session will be held regarding the trek.
A guided tour of UNESCO World Heritage Sites including Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Last-minute gear checks before the trek.
A scenic drive through hills, terraced farms, and riverside villages along the Trishuli River takes us to Syabrubesi, the gateway to Langtang Valley.
The trail follows the Langtang River through dense forests, crossing suspension bridges and passing Tamang villages before reaching Lama Hotel.
We continue our ascent with breathtaking mountain views, passing through rhododendron forests and yak pastures before arriving at Langtang Village, a settlement rebuilt after the 2015 earthquake.
A short but scenic trek leads to Kyanjin Gompa, home to an ancient Buddhist monastery and a local cheese factory. Optional hike to Kyanjin Ri (4,773m) for panoramic views of Langtang Lirung and surrounding peaks.
Heading into a remote wilderness, we pass glacier-fed streams and rugged terrain. Langshisa Kharka is an isolated high-altitude yak pasture with stunning views.
We traverse the Langshisa Glacier, navigating steep moraines and rocky ridges, making our way to Moraine Camp, an advanced high-altitude campsite.
The most challenging day of the trek! We ascend Tilman Pass, a steep, glaciated, and technically demanding crossing, offering spectacular views of Langtang and Jugal Himal ranges before descending carefully to Tilman Phedi.
We descend through rugged landscapes to Tin Pokhari (Three Lakes), a sacred and picturesque collection of alpine lakes.
We trek to Panch Pokhari (Five Lakes), a revered pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists. The site offers majestic reflections of towering peaks in its tranquil waters.
A gradual descent through alpine meadows and rocky trails leads to Nasimpati, a remote campsite with stunning sunrise views.
We continue downhill through forested trails, transitioning from glacial terrain to lush greenery.
This section of the trek passes through dense rhododendron and pine forests, with Tamang settlements and Buddhist chortens along the way.
The descent continues through rolling hills and yak grazing fields, offering chances to spot wildlife like Himalayan Tahr and Danphe (national bird of Nepal).
We gradually re-enter lowland villages, passing waterfalls and terraced farms before reaching Okhreni.
The final trekking day leads to Chautara, a large hill town with Buddhist stupas and temples, marking the end of our trek.
A scenic countryside drive brings us back to Kathmandu, where we celebrate the trek’s completion with a farewell dinner.
