The Everest Classic Trek is an adventurous journey that takes trekkers through the heart of the Himalayas, offering a unique opportunity to experience the rich Sherpa culture, pristine landscapes, and unparalleled views of the world’s highest peak—Mount Everest (8,848 m). This trek follows the historic route taken by legendary mountaineers before the establishment of the Lukla airport, making it one of the most authentic Himalayan trekking experiences.

Starting from Jiri, this trek offers breathtaking scenery, diverse landscapes, and cultural encounters, culminating at Everest Base Camp (5,364 m) and the famous Kala Patthar (5,545 m). The return journey includes a scenic flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. The entire trek requires about three weeks, allowing for acclimatization and exploration of the mesmerizing Khumbu region.

Detailed itinerary

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel. The evening is free to explore the vibrant streets of Thamel or relax at your accommodation. A pre-trek briefing will be provided.

We begin our journey with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Jiri, passing through lush green hills, terraced fields, and traditional villages. This drive provides an excellent introduction to Nepal’s diverse landscapes and rural life.

The first day of trekking involves an uphill climb through picturesque villages, forests, and terraced farmlands. The trail offers breathtaking views of the rolling hills and distant peaks.

A combination of descents and ascents takes us to Kenja, a small but vibrant settlement nestled in a valley. Along the way, we pass through charming villages and dense forests rich in biodiversity.

We ascend towards Lamjura Danda, one of the highest points in this section of urs trek, offering spectacular panoramic views. This segment features lush rhododendron forests, which bloom in vibrant colors during spring.

Descending from Lamjura Pass, we reach the beautiful Junbesi Village, a traditional Sherpa settlement. Here, you can visit Thupten Chholing Monastery, one of the largest monasteries in the region.

The trail leads us through rolling hills and forests to Taksindu Monastery, an ancient Buddhist site offering insights into the spiritual practices of the Sherpa people.

Descending into lower altitudes, we arrive at Jubing Village, a peaceful village inhabited by Rai and Sherpa communities.

The trail gradually ascends toward Painya, crossing rivers and suspension bridges while passing through scenic landscapes.

We enter the Khumbu region, following the Dudh Koshi River to reach Phakding, a popular stopover for trekkers en route to Everest Base Camp.

A challenging yet rewarding trek leads us to Namche Bazaar, the gateway to Everest. The trail includes the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge and offers the first glimpse of Everest.

A short trek to Syangboche (3,780 m) allows for proper acclimatization. The Everest View Hotel offers stunning views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam.

We trek through beautiful forests and suspension bridges before reaching Tengboche Monastery, the spiritual center of the Khumbu region.

As we gain altitude, the landscapes become more rugged. Dingboche is a picturesque village surrounded by snow-capped peaks.

We take a short hike to Chhukung to adapt to the altitude before returning to Dingboche for an overnight stay.

The trail takes us past Thukla Pass, marked by memorials of climbers, before reaching Lobuche.

We reach Gorakshep, the last settlement before Everest Base Camp, where we spend the night.

A challenging but rewarding trek takes us to Everest Base Camp, offering surreal views of the Khumbu Icefall and surrounding peaks.

An early morning hike to Kala Patthar provides a panoramic sunrise view of Everest and the Himalayan range. We then descend to Pheriche.

We pass through picturesque valleys to reach Khumjung, a traditional Sherpa village.

Descending further, we reach Monjo, located just outside Sagarmatha National Park.

The final trekking day brings us back to Lukla, marking the end of our adventure.
