More Information
Kongma Tse (5,849m), also known as Mehra Peak, is a prominent trekking peak in the Khumbu region of Nepal. Towering just south of Mount Everest, Kongma Tse offers climbers an exhilarating yet technically straightforward ascent. While the climb itself is manageable, factors such as heavy snowfall and a network of crevasses can make the approach to the summit challenging.
The trek to Kongma Tse’s base camp from Lukla is a rewarding journey through remote and pristine Himalayan landscapes, featuring dense rhododendron forests, alpine meadows, and traditional Sherpa villages. There are multiple routes to the base camp, including the adventurous crossings of Amphu Labtsa (5,780m) and Mngbo La (5,871m), which offer breathtaking scenery but require prior mountaineering experience.
