Mera Peak and Mingbola Pass Trek is a perfect blend of adventure, physical challenge, and natural beauty. It is designed for trekkers with some technical climbing experience and offers a unique opportunity to experience remote areas of the Himalayas that few have the privilege of seeing.
Arrive in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Spend the day relaxing and adjusting to the time zone, or take a leisurely walk around the city to explore local sights and experience the vibrant culture of Kathmandu.
Today, you will enjoy a full-day guided sightseeing tour of Kathmandu, visiting UNESCO World Heritage sites such as Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple), Boudhanath Stupa, and the historical Kathmandu Durbar Square. These landmarks offer a glimpse into the rich culture and history of Nepal, preparing you for your trekking journey ahead.
Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. The flight offers incredible views of the Himalayas, and upon arrival, you’ll begin your trek to Chudhenga. The walk today is relatively moderate, taking you through lush forests and traditional Sherpa villages as you make your way to Chudhenga for the night.
Today’s trek is a bit more challenging as you ascend towards Chatra La. The trail takes you through remote villages and forests, with occasional glimpses of the towering peaks. Upon reaching Chatra La, you will set up camp and enjoy the surrounding views of the Khumbu region.
Trekking through alpine meadows, today’s journey will bring you closer to the heart of the Himalayas. The landscape gradually becomes more rugged, and you will begin to feel the altitude as you reach Khode. This remote settlement is where you'll camp for the night, surrounded by the awe-inspiring peaks.
Today, you’ll trek further into the mountains, passing through several high-altitude villages along the way. The walk is moderately strenuous, and by the time you reach Thagnak, you’ll be surrounded by the high-altitude scenery of snow-capped peaks. It’s important to take things slowly to allow your body to acclimatize to the increasing elevation.
As you continue your ascent, the environment becomes more dramatic with glacial terrain and towering mountain views. Khare, situated in a scenic location, serves as a perfect spot to rest and acclimatize further in preparation for the challenging days ahead.
A vital rest day to allow your body to adjust to the altitude. You can take short walks around the area or simply relax at camp, soaking in the spectacular views of the surrounding peaks.
Today, you begin your ascent towards Mera High Camp. The path becomes steeper as you approach the camp, which is situated at a higher altitude. The route provides magnificent views of the surrounding mountains, and once at camp, you will have spectacular panoramic vistas.
The summit day is a challenging but highly rewarding experience. You’ll start early in the morning and use technical climbing equipment to ascend Mera Peak. The summit offers 360-degree views of the Everest, Makalu, and Kanchenjunga ranges, making the effort worthwhile. After the summit, you will return to Mera High Camp to rest.
Descend from Mera High Camp back to Mera Base Camp, then continue towards Kongmading. This part of the trek is relatively easier, and you will cross beautiful valleys, enjoying the tranquility and remoteness of the region.
Continue your trek towards Chamlang Base Camp, traversing through alpine terrain and gaining altitude. The base camp is surrounded by high-altitude peaks, providing a stunning backdrop to rest and prepare for the next stages of your adventure.
Today, the trek takes you to Panch Pokhari, a sacred site with five holy lakes. The area is known for its serene beauty, and it offers a peaceful place to rest and reflect on your journey so far.
This is one of the most challenging yet rewarding days of the trek. You will ascend through the Mingbola Pass, a technical pass that requires the use of climbing equipment. The pass provides a dramatic view of the surrounding Himalayas, and after crossing it, you will descend to Mingbo Phedi.
After crossing Mingbola Pass, you will descend to Dingboche, a picturesque Sherpa village. Along the way, you will be treated to stunning views of the surrounding mountains, including Mount Ama Dablam. Dingboche is a popular stop for trekkers on the way to Everest Base Camp.
Today’s trek brings you closer to the iconic Everest region. The trail takes you to Lobuche, a village that serves as a key stop for those heading towards Everest Base Camp. The views here are spectacular, with panoramic vistas of some of the highest peaks in the region.
An early start takes you to Kalapatar, one of the best viewpoints for seeing Mount Everest up close. The effort to reach Kalapatar is rewarded with breathtaking views of Everest, Lhotse, and other surrounding peaks. After spending time at the top, you return to Lobuche for the night.
From Lobuche, you will trek to Chhukung, passing through valleys and enjoying views of the surrounding mountains. Chhukung is a tranquil village, ideal for relaxing and acclimatizing as you prepare for the final leg of your trek.
Today, you will descend towards Tengboche, where the famous Tengboche Monastery is located. The monastery, surrounded by majestic mountains, is a spiritual hub for trekkers, and it offers a peaceful environment to reflect on your journey.
From Tengboche, you will descend to Namche Bazaar, the vibrant Sherpa town known for its bustling market and stunning views of the surrounding peaks. It is the perfect place to rest before heading back to Lukla.
Today, you will make your way back to Lukla, retracing the path you took at the start of your trek. This is a relatively easy day, allowing you to reflect on your incredible journey through the Everest region.
Fly back to Kathmandu from Lukla. Once you arrive, you can relax and unwind after your adventure, or enjoy some free time for shopping and exploring more of the city.
Spend a leisurely day in Kathmandu. You can shop for souvenirs, explore local markets, or visit other cultural attractions in the city. It’s a day to rest and absorb the experiences of your trek.
Transfer to the airport for your flight home, taking with you unforgettable memories of your incredible Himalayan adventure.
